Michael Bay’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Done

And just like that, it’s already got some problems. Script problems to be exact. Apparently Paramount has 99 problems, and a script is one.

Maybe now Sci-Fi fans and folks that grew up with the Ninja Turtles will get what they’re hoping for (a legitimate movie that is fun and maybe serious at the same time). They may have that feeling that their voice actually matters. Or maybe the studio just thought, “with all this backlash, we shouldn’t go down this road.” I’m guessing it’s none of those things. If I had to put money down, I would guess it’s because Michael Bay didn’t want to deal with another set of fans (who are probably, ironically the same fans that liked Transformers until Bay got his hands on the franchise) whining and moaning so he, along with the writers, are changing it to something besides an alien race to appease everybody.

This is good news either way. Honestly. Now a 4th Transformers movie is further away and Ninja Turtles will most likely be thrown to another director that may just mess it up as well. Perfect! So the only news here really is that “Ninja Turtles” (I hope to God its changed back to “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”) is now a May 2014 release.
